Bodybuilding for Beginners

Written by great ptc sites 0 komentar Posted in:

Every day, all over the world, someone picks up a dumbbell for the first time and begins a quest to be the next Arnold Schwarzenegger. They imagine their bodies swelling up beyond belief and turning a once wiry frame into a molded piece of muscular artwork. Unfortunately, they quickly find out that the prospect is a bit harder than they first had thought. Achieving excellence in bodybuilding requires not only dedication, but intense physical exercise…A LOT of intense physical exercise. Because of this, we thought we would take some time to explain some basic principles that can help beginning bodybuilders get the RIGHT start on their new endeavor.

Many times beginning bodybuilders make the mistake of using the routines of professional bodybuilders featured on magazines, when instead they should be using a routine that is geared towards their level

First of all, If like most people you are eating once or twice a day or relying on fast foods to get by, then a bodybuilding diet may be absolutely different to what you are used to. If this is the case, then it is best to follow the steps provided in my article Easing Into A Bodybuilding Diet so that you slowly start changing your eating habits into the ones required to be successful at bodybuilding.

you should try to avoid your initial inclinations and simply start light. Most folks that start working out to build serious muscle often end up biting off more than they can chew, or in this case, lifting heavier weights than they should. It is extremely easy to go from working out to lying in the hospital with a torn muscle if you push yourself too hard. Starting off light, with weights you can handle, will allow you to make consistent and SAFE progress throughout your bodybuilding regimen.

One the next things that beginning bodybuilders do is try to build INDIVIDUAL muscles. They pick up a dumbbell and start doing arm curls until someone tells them to stop. Unfortunately, no one ever does, so more often than that, you see a nice set of guns on a puny body…come on, you know I’m right…working ONE muscle at a time is a mistake at this stage. Instead, you want to focus on COMPOUND movements, or ones that hit several large muscle groups at one time. The king of these is the squat. This exercise not only hits your entire lower body extremely effectively, it also works quite a few of the muscles in your upper body as well. No other single exercise can pack on as much quality muscle as the squat.

The next on your list of beginning bodybuilding moves is the bench press. This effective compound movement is not just for your chest, not by any means. Bench presses hit your chest, shoulders, triceps, forearms, and many of the stabilizing muscles in these areas as well. This workout can pack on muscle and make several key muscles much stronger to provide the strength needed as you further your bodybuilding endeavors.

Last on our list for beginning bodybuilding moves is the pull-up. Many folks HATE doing these, and there is a good reason…they can’t do them! Pulling off a set of 10 reps on the pull-up bar is not only impressive; it also has the ability to build some serious muscle. Cranking out rep after rep of pull-ups can do AMAZING things for your biceps, forearms, shoulders, and of course, your entire back. Once you get to the point of being able to do 25 or so, you can always add weight and continue to back on the beef. Think 25 sounds like a lot? Do pull-ups everyday and you WILL get there.

There you have it…a few basic for beginning bodybuilders that will serve your needs for years to come. Take is safe, take it slow, and follow these proven exercises to bodybuilding success.
The simple fact is that bodybuilding won't ever mess up with your growth provided the following:

1) Start bodybuilding only after you reach 13. Before this your still in a growing phase and your bones are too tender to support the heavy training. Before 13 you should only do bodyweight exercises like push ups and dips. They wont make you look big but make you look fit.

2) Don't perform compound movements like Squats and Deadlifts before you grow to at least 16. These things require lot of execution techniques and if you do them wrong you could injure yourself badly. Still if you do want to do them remember never to go too heavy.

3) NEVER take testosterone supplements before you're an adult. Your growing stops once your growth plates close up. As a teenager you already have loads of testosterone in your body, if you intake more testosterone supplements, it will result in your growth plates closing up leading to stunted growth.

Now after studying the above, there are a few more things bodybuilding. It's been seen that 2 out of ever 3 individuals stop training within 2 months and they have loads of excused like stunted growth and 'bad genetics'. They say that, no matter how much they train they won't gain. Since they have 'bad genetics'. That's totally wrong, you can't know your genetic limitations just within 2 months, you have to train for a long enough time. Training for just 2 months won't change you into an Arnold.

Hair Transplant Terminology

Written by great ptc sites 0 komentar Posted in:

Many veteraned hair transplant patients are familiar with the term "follicular unit grafting" and have come to know this as the today's "Gold Standard" in hair transplant surgery. What many don't know however, is that a "follicular unit" falls under a particular category of "micrograft" - a term often wrongfully associated with a much less favorable and also misconstrued term "minigraft".

Believe it or not even some of the leading physicians in the hair transplant profession today use some "minigrafts" when appropriate for the patient. But what exactly is a "minigraft"? Are they really as bad as some have perceived them to be?
Follicular Unit The follicular unit of the adult human scalp is a naturally occurring entity that consists of 1-4, and occasionally 5, terminal hair follicles, 1, or rarely 2, vellus follicles, the associated sebaceous lobules, the insertions of the arrector pili muscles, its neural and vascular plexuses, and the fine adventitial collagen which surrounds, and defines, the unit (the perifolliculum).

Follicular Unit Graft A graft that is obtained by dissecting out the individual, naturally occurring follicular unit. This is also referred to as a follicular unit implant, a term which implies that (unlike most grafts) the ratio of hair/skin is greater in the follicular unit implant than in the original donor area, since some of the non-hair bearing tissue has been trimmed away in the dissection.

Micrograft A 1-2 hair graft. It may consist of naturally occurring one and two-hair follicular units or be derived from larger units which are subdivided.

Minigraft A 3-6 hair graft derived from either a single follicular unit, multiple follicular units, or multiple, partial follicular units. As suggested by Walter Unger, this may be further classified into small minigrafts of 3-4 hairs, and large minigrafts of 5-6 hairs.

Slit-graft A 3-6 hair graft derived from either multiple follicular units, or multiple, partial follicular units where the dissection technique specifically attempts to produce a linear arrangement of follicles, or follicular units. This may be further classified into small slit-grafts of 3-4 hairs, and large slit-grafts of 5-6 hairs.

This may be further classified into small slit-grafts of 3-4 hairs, and large slit-grafts of 5-6 hairs.

Follicular Unit Dissection A technique in which naturally occurring, individual follicular units are dissected from donor tissue that has been removed as a single strip (rather than with a multi-bladed knife of more than two blades) in order to keep the follicular units intact. Some non-hair bearing tissue is removed to decrease the overall bulk of the implant. Stereo-microscopic dissection is required.

Mini-Micrografts or Slit-grafts Cut to Size A dissection technique whereby the donor strip is subdivided to produce grafts of specific sizes as defined by the number of hairs they contain and/or the size of tissue that will fit into a specific recipient site. The removal of excess skin is not required. The dissection can be performed with or without magnification and the donor tissue may be removed as a single strip or with a multi-bladed knife.

Follicular Unit Transplantation A method of hair restoration surgery where hair is transplanted exclusively in its naturally occurring, individual follicular units. Single strip harvesting and stereo-microscopic dissection are required. The grafts must be placed into small recipient incisions.

Mini-Micrografting A method of hair transplantation which uses grafts containing 1-6 hairs, in groups that do not necessarily correspond to the naturally occurring follicular units. The recipient sites may be either incisions, excisions (tissue removed), or both.

Two Terminology Extremes: Science vs. Marketing

Soon after the publication, Seager suggested to add another term, the "Follicular Family Unit." (7) To paraphrase Dr. Seager:

When dissecting follicular units, it is sometimes unclear as to which unit a seemingly "stray" hair belongs. In other words, occasionally it is not completely obvious where one follicular unit ends, and an adjacent one begins. When one is specifically trying to create increased density, a stray hair would be included with an (unusually) close neighboring, larger follicular unit, containing possibly three hairs. This technique would create a four-haired unit, when there may have been no four-haired units there at all. One must find two separate units that look close enough to almost "belong together." If the two contiguous units are chosen correctly, the resulting unit can be very difficult, sometimes impossible, to distinguish from a naturally occurring follicular unit.

The key to success in this endeavor is the concept of the "Follicular Family Unit." If any ("non-family") two-follicular units are randomly doubled up, the resulting graft will be more the size of a minigraft, rather than a micrograft. It would need a larger recipient site, which would preclude dense packing because of both technical planting limitations and impairment of scalp vasculature. If, on the other hand, despite their larger size, they are forced into minute micrograft-sized recipient sites; they would be traumatized during attempts at insertion.

Although the term "follicular family unit" was introduced to account for the variability in the anatomy of the follicular unit and to take advantage of these variations in the surgery, other terms were not necessarily based on purely scientific considerations.

A blatant misrepresentation of the term follicular unit was "Follicular Unit Coupling - The Role of Slot Grafting in Hair Transplantation." (8) In this case, the author attached the new term to the original slot grafting method. This was a technique that used slit grafts harvested with a multi-bladed knife and then cut into thin pieces and placed into large slots of skin removed with a rectangular punch. The term was new and a marketing campaign followed, but the technique was the same as the original one, with no-attempt whatsoever to use, or preserve, follicular units.

Between these extremes, is the ongoing struggle to describe what we do in a clear, precise way - in the face of ever evolving concepts and techniques, and an ever increasing number of terms. The issue at hand is to be able to distinguish which terms are adding to the science and which are just blurring it.

Making Sense of the FU Salad

>From the opening list of acronyms, all used at the recent ISHRS meeting, it seems that we again need to step back and examine the new terms, to see which represent distinct ideas or techniques and which are, perhaps, redundant. What follows is a first-pass attempt at sorting out the six terms that, in our opinion, are the most confusing, and have the most overlap. They come in two groups: The first is FU Coupling, FU pairing, Double FUs (DFUs) and Multiple FUs (MFUs). The second group includes FUE and FIT.

With respect to the first group, we think that there are two distinct situations that doctor's are trying to communicate with these terms. The first is the technique of placing two separately dissected follicular unit grafts into one recipient site. This is distinct from the commonly used term "Doubling-up" which many doctors have used to refer to placing two micrografts in one site. Our suggestion is to use the term FU pairing to refer to the technique of placing two separately isolated follicular units into one recipient site. We suggest discarding the term FU Coupling as it has been incorrectly associated with slit grafting procedures in past literature and its use will be confusing.

The second situation is when a doctor places two (or more) follicular units, that have not been separated in the dissection, into one hole. In our view, this is clearly not follicular unit transplantation. The reason is that a main advantage of FUT was that in isolating FUs one would remove some of the non-hair bearing skin between FUs, to decrease the bulk of the graft. This, in turn, would allow the doctor to use a smaller recipient site, create less wounding, allow for safely transplanting a larger number of grafts in a single session etc, etc. Using multiple non-dissected follicular units, in our view, creates a larger wound and accomplishes none of these goals.

We are not suggesting that doctors should abandon this technique. Some excellent surgeons incorporate these grafts into their procedures. We are merely suggesting that it not be called FUT. Well then what should one call them? Our answer is to call them what they have always been called, namely micro-grafts, mini-grafts and slit grafts. If one argues that they are now different due to the use of the stereo-microscope, then we agree. In this case, the grafts should be called microscopically dissected micro-grafts, mini-grafts and slit grafts, to communicate the fact that follicular transection may be avoided. But these are still not follicular unit grafts any more than a pedicle flap is follicular unit transplantation. To avoid confusion, we suggest eliminating the terms DFUs and MFUs.

So what should we call eyebrow transplants? According to the technique used by most hair restoration surgeons, where they divide up the donor strip into single hairs, it should be called one-hair micrografting. If one uses the contra-lateral eyebrow for donor hair, then this can truly be referred to as FUT.

FUE and FIT

The increased transection rate of FUE harvesting techniques that use a sharp punch (relative to single-strip harvesting and stereomicroscopic dissection) had some doctors immediately question whether this procedure should be classified as a type of follicular unit transplantation. (9) With the introduction of the blunt dissection technique by Harris, that significantly decreased damage to follicles and increased the preservation of follicular units, the argument for classifying FUE as a type of FUT is considerably stronger - but certainly not bullet-proof - since in some cases significant transection remains and in others the entire follicular unit cannot be captured. (10)

The Follicular Isolation Technique (FIT), is a term used by Cole and Rose that refers to an FUE technique that uses a punch with a "stop" to limit the depth of penetration. Although these authors and other physicians question the need for a depth-stop in the extraction technique, FIT is possibly a better term than FUE if the entire unit is not being captured. In our view, when the goal is just to extract hair, rather than intact follicular units, the term FIT is preferable.

Conclusion

In sum, these authors suggest that the following four terms and definitions be added to the original classification.

Follicular Family Unit Two closely contiguous follicular units that are dissected as one graft, so that they can fit into the same size recipient site as the largest naturally occurring follicular unit normally used in the procedure.

FU pairing The technique of placing two separately isolated follicular units into one recipient site.

FUE Direct donor extraction procedures where the intent is to extract the entire follicular unit. If a depth stop is used, this should be indicated.

FIT Direct extraction procedures where the intent is to extract individual or multiple hairs smaller than the entire follicular unit. (In other words, the direct extraction of micro-grafts.) If a depth stop is used, this should be indicated.

Micro-grafts, mini-grafts and slit grafts that have been dissected microscopically to prevent follicular transection should be referred to just that, namely: microscopically dissected micro-grafts, mini-grafts and slit grafts. These authors do not feel that these procedures should be classified as a type of follicular unit transplantation. We also suggest that the terms FU Coupling, DFUs and MFUs are confusing and should be abandoned.

Type 2 Diabetes Symptoms and Signs

Written by great ptc sites 0 komentar Posted in:

The number of adults and teenagers in the United States who are being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes are on the rise. As the obesity rates rise, so do the numbers for type 2 diabetes. It is a known fact that being obese or overweight can lead to the early onset of type 2 diabetes.

Diabetes mellitus type 2 or type 2 diabetes (formerly called non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM), or adult-onset diabetes) is a disorder that is characterized by high blood glucose in the context of insulin resistance and relative insulin deficiency. While it is often initially managed by increasing exercise and dietary modification, medications are typically needed as the disease progresses. There are an estimated 23.6 million people in the U.S. (7.8% of the population) with diabetes with 17.9 million being diagnosed,90% of whom are type 2.With prevalence rates doubling between 1990 and 2005, CDC has characterized the increase as an epidemic.

Traditionally considered a disease of adults, type 2 diabetes is increasingly diagnosed in children in parallel to rising obesity rates due to alterations in dietary patterns as well as in life styles during childhood.

Unlike type 1 diabetes, there is very little tendency toward ketoacidosis in type 2 diabetes, though it is not unknown.[citation needed] One effect that can occur is nonketonic hyperglycemia which also is quite dangerous, though it must be treated very differently. Complex and multifactorial metabolic changes very often lead to damage and function impairment of many organs, most importantly the cardiovascular system in both types. This leads to substantially increased morbidity and mortality in both type 1 and type 2 patients, but the two have quite different origins and treatments despite the similarity in complications.

Type 2 diabetes is a horrific disease that can bring forth several medical complications and problems such as a stroke, gout, blindness, and other skin problems. This is why it is so important that a person recognizes the type 2 diabetes symptoms and signs as soon as possible, as the disease can be controlled with the proper lifestyle program such as Kathy Smith's Project You Type 2.

Here are some of the common type 2 diabetes symptoms to be on the look out for, especially if you are considered overweight or obese.

- Fatigue

When your body deprives your cells of sugar, you become fatigues because you do not have the energy source anymore.

- Increase thirst with frequent urination

When excess sugar builds up in your blood stream, it pulls the water and fluids from your tissues and cells, which leaves you constantly thirsty. The result is that you drink more than normal and have to urinate more than normal.

- Blurry vision

This goes along the same lines as increased thirst. When sugar pulls the fluid away from the lenses of your eyes, you start to have trouble with your eyesight and it becomes blurry. You may not be able to focus clearly on objects.

- Sores are slow-healing

Type 2 diabetes affects your body in that it takes much longer to heal your sores and infections. Your body does not have the proper energy to heal your body quickly anymore.

- Increased hunger

When you don't have enough insulin your body to move the sugar into your cells, your body craves the energy and food, even after you may have just eaten. This type 2 diabetes symptom actually worsens the effect of the disease as it can make a person gain even more weight.

If you concerned that you are suffering from at least 2 or more of the above type 2 diabetes symptoms, you need to see your doctor as soon as possible. The quicker that you are diagnosed with the disease, the quicker you can change your life and start fighting it.

-Weight loss.
Despite eating more than usual to relieve hunger, you may lose weight. Without the ability to use glucose, the body uses alternative fuels stored in muscle and fat. Calories are lost as excess glucose is released in the urine.

- Slow-healing sores or frequent infections.
Type 2 diabetes affects your ability to heal and resist infections.

- Areas of darkened skin.
Some people with type 2 diabetes have patches of dark, velvety skin in the folds and creases of their bodies — usually in the armpits and neck. This condition, called acanthosis nigricans, may be a sign of insulin resistance.

When to see a doctor
See your doctor if you're concerned about diabetes or if you notice any type 2 diabetes symptoms.

Uterine Artery Embolization

Written by great ptc sites 0 komentar Posted in:

Uterine artery embolization (UAE) is a procedure where an interventional radiologist uses a catheter to deliver small particles that block the blood supply to the uterine body. If the procedure is done for the treatment of uterine fibroids it is also called Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE).

Uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) is a minimally invasive treatment for fibroid tumors of the uterus. The procedure is also sometimes referred to as Uterine Artery Embolization (UAE), but this term is less specific and, as will be discussed below, UAE is used for conditions other than fibroids.

Fibroid tumors, also known as myomas, are benign tumors that arise from the muscular wall of the uterus. It is extremely rare for them to turn cancerous. More commonly, they cause heavy menstrual bleeding, pain in the pelvic region, and pressure on the bladder or bowel.

In a UFE procedure, physicians use an x-ray camera called a fluoroscope to guide the delivery of small particles to the uterus and fibroids. The small particles are injected through a thin, flexible tube called a catheter. These block the arteries that provide blood flow, causing the fibroids to shrink. Nearly 90 percent of women with fibroids experience relief of their symptoms.

Because the effect of uterine fibroid embolization on fertility is not fully understood, UFE is typically offered to women who no longer wish to become pregnant or who want or need to avoid having a hysterectomy, which is the operation to remove the uterus.

Because the effect of uterine fibroid embolization on fertility is not fully understood, UFE is typically offered to women who no longer wish to become pregnant or who want or need to avoid having a hysterectomy, which is the operation to remove the uterus.

Under local anesthesia a catheter is introduced into the femoral artery at the groin and advanced under radiographic control retrograde into the uterine arterty. There microparticules (spheres or beads) are released which will block the vessel. Due to collaterals the uterus will not necrose even if both arteries are occluded. The procedure is not a surgical intervention and allows the uterus to be kept in place.

This intervention can be used to relieve the main symptoms related to uterine fibromata (including excessive vaginal bleeding, pelvic pain and compression). This intervention can be proposed as an alternative to surgery in case of symptoms related to uterine fibroids. It is performed by interventional radiologists. UAE can also be used to control heavy uterine bleeding for other reasons than fibroids, i.e. in cases of postpartum obstetrical hemorrhage.

Uterine Artery Embolization is Less Invasive

Although a myomectomy, which is a surgical operation that entails tumor removal from the uterus, could be done to address uterine fibroids, UAE is often considered as an alternative treatment for this. This is because it is a non-surgical operation that only calls for minimal invasiveness as a procedure.

Because uterine fibroids require blood supply in order to develop and flourish, uterine artery embolization is done with a focus on the arterial system. The doctor will determine the uterine arteries before he will proceed with the treatment. This is usually done through an x-ray followed by tiny particles injected into the arteries that supply blood to the fibroids.

The particles injected will impede the blood flow to the fibroids thus stopping excessive bleeding. This will also cause the shrinking of the fibroids over a period of time.

Disadvantages of Uterine Artery Embolization

In studies performed to determine the effects of uterine artery embolization, researchers found that while this procedure might be safe for some patients, it required additional surgery for others. There are also women whose symptoms returned five years after the procedure was done.

Another complication that was noted with having a uterine artery embolization is that it can bring on heavy vaginal bleeding. There was a study that showed women who had abnormal bleeding after going through the operation to have their intramural fibroids treated. When an endometrial biopsy was done, it was discovered that these women had necrotic fibroids, which happens when the tissues died because of a lack of blood supplied to the arteries.

After a while, the women were diagnosed of having a septic uterus, thus requiring hysterectomy. Because of this study, it was concluded by doctors that while uterine artery embolization might be safe, it still carries a high risk for infection, especially when done to correct intramural fibroids that are found near the uterine lining. This is because dead tissue is usually what attracts the development of bacteria.

If you are considering a uterine artery embolization for treating fibroid tumors, it is best to first have consultations with your doctor about other options and the possible complications that might arise from the procedure. It is important that you understand the risks involved, so you are making an informed decision.

But it isn't all lucky genes - the culture has always valued beautiful skin and Japanese skincare is an important part of life. There's no reason we can't all benefit from the secrets they've learned and enjoy the same youthful and healthy skin well into old age.

Japanese skincare isn't just a lotion or an exfoliation technique. It's a holistic approach that includes daily skin care and diet choices. Plenty of raw vegetables and fruit mean a good supply of antioxidants to slow down the aging process caused by free radicals.

Moisturizing regularly with natural oils - not manufactured products not only maintains a proper moisture balance but also brings the nutrients skin needs. Exfoliation is also a life long habit most Japanese women learn at a young age.

All these things are about habit and life style. But in addition to this, the Japanese identified a natural ingredient hundreds of years ago that they understand actually slows down the aging process in skin. It's a central part of many Japanese skin care regimes. It is very noticeable that most Japanese people keep their youthful, clear complexions much later in life than people from other areas of the world, so what's the secret? What is it about Japanese skincare products that are so superior to what is being used in other areas of the world?

First, it is important to note that the secret doesn't necessarily lie only in Japanese skin care products. The Japanese people are also known to eat healthier than what has become custom in other areas of the world. They are often very simple eaters and include a variety of nuts, seeds, and berries which are very beneficial to the skin as well as every other organ in the body.

Eating healthy, nutrient and antioxidant rich foods is a huge help to keeping beautiful, youthful skin well into old age. Yet, the Japanese skincare products they use only help accelerate the benefits of their food selections.

Japanese products are not too much different from those used around the world, but they tend to contain higher concentrations of key ingredients which many manufacturers in other areas of the world avoid because they are more expensive. Instead of putting price before effectiveness, Japanese skincare products tend to use more of these higher priced ingredients because they really work!

One of the most effective ingredients they use is called Phytessence Wakame. This is a type of sea kelp found naturally in Japan, so it is not as expensive for them to obtain, process, and include in their skin care products.

Not only does Phytessence Wakame seal in moisture and heal dried out skin, but it also smooths away wrinkles, nourishes the skin, increases the elasticity in the skin. All of this means it is a natural ingredient that has been proven to keep the skin from sagging and eliminate wrinkles and other signs of aging, damaged skin.

Since ingredients like that are so readily available there, it is no wonder that Japanese skincare products are so far superior to what is used in other areas of the world. Yet, there are some brands starting to hit the market in the U.S. that use Phytessence Wakame in place of cheaper, less effective chemical ingredients. These skincare lines have also proven to be highly superior to most other brands currently selling on the open market.

How Does Anti Wrinkle Face Cream Work Its Magic?

Written by great ptc sites 0 komentar Posted in:

Every woman should be using some type of anti wrinkle face cream, whether she is in her forties or her twenties. Older women are all trying to minimize the signs of aging, while the younger generations are now thinking ahead and trying to prevent them from occurring in the first place.

It is easy to just smear on an anti wrinkle face cream every day, but have you ever wondered what is inside that face wrinkle cream? Have you wondered what allows it to fill in lines and undo wrinkles within such a short period of time?

The secrets of the best face wrinkle cream products lies in their blend of natural ingredients, free from any of the harmful chemicals that the majority anti wrinkle face cream products contain today. Here are some of the most effective ones and how they work to return your youthful glow.

A good starting point is to only use proven ingredients from reputable and ethical companies which rules out most of the famous name brands today!

The key reason you age is down to a lack of the important skin proteins elastin and collagen, as you may well know. The older we get, the less we make and this causes those unwanted signs of aging to appear like sagging facial skin, wrinkles and bags under the eyes.

There is no point in using an anti wrinkle face cream that has collagen inside as you cannot get any benefits from applying collagen topically because the molecules are too big to get through. This is the scientific truth no matter how the big name brands try to tell you otherwise, so please don't fall for it!

The secret to keeping your youthful appearance is to use a substance that increases your collagen levels naturally, enabling your body to produce as much as it needs to fade those signs of aging naturally and for good.

One of the only ones that can do this is Cynergy TK, a natural extract from the wool of New Zealand sheep and a revelation in terms of how it can keep you younger looking and healthy. It contains powerful antioxidants that promote general health as well as maintaining great skin health and preventing the signs of aging from returning by moisturizing deep down.

You also want to have natural oils like Grapeseed, Avocado and Jojoba to keep out dirt and grime while healing the skin, Phytessence wakame from Japanese sea kelp to deliver a burst of essential nutrients and minerals and Maracuja, a passion fruit extract from Brazil that helps to nourish and revitalize your skin and give it a soft, velvet like feel.

If you find these in your anti wrinkle face cream you can be sure that they'll work synergistically to provide you with round the clock skin care, unlike any other face wrinkle cream you have experienced.

With the best proven ingredients in a face wrinkle cream, you can soon start to look as young on the outside as you feel on the inside once again.

If so, then you have come to the right place. It turns out anti wrinkle face cream is not as mysterious as you might have thought. The ingredients in the best face wrinkle cream products are all natural, and some actually work by stimulating your body to produce essential proteins and nutrients which naturally occur in young skin cells.

Four of the biggest factors that determine the health and appearance of your skin are collagen, elastin, hyaluronic acid, and free radicals within the body as a whole.

A good anti wrinkle face cream will include natural ingredients that stimulate the body to create new skin cells and pump more collagen and elastin into the skin. Collagen is a protein that naturally occurs in the skin and which is best provided naturally by the body. Elastin is what gives the skin its elasticity and allows it to stay tight and in place no matter how old you get.

The best ingredient to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin is called CynergyTK. It is highly efficient at sparking the growth of these substances with the body, though similar ingredients may be used in different product brands.

Hyaluronic acid is also extremely important to the skin because it is yet another naturally occurring substance in the body which improves the elasticity of the skin and helps to keep it from drying out. It also needs to be replenished as you get older if you are going to prevent or lessen the signs of aging.

Antioxidants such as phytessence Wakame (from sea algae in Japan) are excellent for gradually replenishing this acid over time. It will keep your skin smooth and silky by building up elasticity so it doesn't sag out of shape so easily.

Finally, free radicals are everywhere in the body thanks to the impure air, water, and food that we pump into our bodies every single day. These toxins can be devastating to the skin over time, but an anti wrinkle cream should have ingredients that cleanse the face and keep it in proper fighting condition to combat the free radicals.

How to Avoid in Anti Aging Skin Care

Written by great ptc sites 0 komentar Posted in:

Anti aging skin care has come a long way over the last twenty years. With cutting edge research, there are a variety of products released recently that have proven effective in clinical trials. Is your skin care regimen keeping up with the latest and best effective ingredients?

When looking at whats in your product, there are three things to avoid, that unfortunately, are all too common. Petroleum, parabens and mineral oils are commonly found in both high and low end anti-aging products, but they have few positive benefits. These chemical ingredients that are added to creams and lotions are not especially effective, and can actually cause problems for sensitive skin.

What's the alternative? More and more, people are turning to natural ingredients that are proven to be beneficial, even for those who have sensitive skin. Ingredients such as grape seed oil, vitamin e, and jojoba oil are being incorporated into the latest skin care products.

Recently approved by the Federal Drug Administration, light therapy has been hailed by cosmetic surgeons, dermatologists, and consumers as an effective and non invasive way to heal damaged skin. Light therapy is also known as photorejuvenation, as the process uses light to renew the skin.

Cosmeticsurgery.com states that photorejuvenation can reduce the effects of aging by increasing the production of collagen and elastin, two chemicals that give skin a healthy, youthful appearance. Wrinkles and age lines are the result of collagen and elastin deficiencies. Photorejuvenation treatments works because various frequencies of light stimulate the production of elastin and collagen, therefore lessening the appearance of age lines and wrinkles. Unlike topical creams that only targets one area of the body, photorejuvenation can treat the signs of aging on the face, hands, neck and chest. However, keep in mind that loose skin on the hands, neck, and face cannot be treated by light therapy.

One of the major concerns that cause people to start using skin care products is to try to minimize wrinkles, sagging and fine lines. One of the most powerful ways to achieve these goals is to increase the production of collagen and elastin.

The specific type of treatment you get will depend on where you receive it and who performs it. You will first have a consultation with your dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon to analyze your skin and any conditions that you want treated with photorejuvenation. Your skin care professional should also tell you what you should expect after treatment, the number of treatments you should expect, and any aftercare suggestions. Once you agree to receive those treatments, you will begin a light therapy program. Using a wand or large box (called a light box) your skin-care professional will administer different frequencies of light to your skin.

While the procedure is non-invasive, there have been reports of minor pain associated with the treatment. According to cosmeticsurgery.com, the treatments can last between 15 and 45 minutes. The type of treatment you need and the intensity of the treatment will determine how long you will be under the light. At the end of the treatment, your skin-care professional will give you topical ointments or creams to reduce the swelling and redness that can sometimes occur immediately after treatment.

Active Manuka Honey is a medicinal honey collected from the flower of the wild tea tree bush in New Zealand. Active Manuka Honey has been researched by Dr. Molan (Senior Lecturer Biochemistry Department, Waikato University, New Zealand) for over 20 years.

Dr. Molan has found that Active Manuka Honey seems to naturally destroy most wound bacteria, staph aureus, streptococcus, as well as h. pylori (helicobacter pylori), the bacteria responsible for stomach ulcers (peptic ulcers).
Active Manuka Honey is coming up on a lot of product labels these days and there has been a lot of talk by advertisers and manufacturers that claim there are special characteristics to this particular strain of honey that it more powerful than any other honey source. Are these claims true? What results can you expect from manuka honey products?

A lot of ingredients that are pumped up in the media for use on the face are not as effective as all the hype claims, but manuka honey products are one exception. When you see active manuka honey advertised as a main ingredient in a skin care product, chances are high that the results will be superior to other products.

Honey is nothing new to the facial care market. Long before active manuka honey came along, honey was considered a very powerful substance that did great things for human skin. This is because honey has a lot of antioxidants and is also a powerful antibacterial, which means it is efficient not only at nourishing and moisturizing the skin (antioxidants), but it fights off free radicals and toxins that can lead to damage in the skin (antibacterial).

So, honey is already an amazing substance. What is so special about active manuka honey?

This strain of honey is only found in New Zealand and it has all of the power of other strains of honey, plus more. There is an extra quality to this honey that makes it more powerful as an antibacterial and antioxidant. It is essentially honey on steroids, but in a completely natural sense.

Manuka honey products assist the skin in developing new skin cells, rejuvenate older skin cells, and promote the production of collagen. Collagen is an essential protein that keeps the skin tight and youthful, so anything that stimulates and promotes this production should be at the top of every woman's wish list.

It really seems too amazing to be true, doesn't it? The fact that honey can do all of this for human facial skin is astounding, but it is also scientifically proven. There have been ample studies that show there is indeed something special about this particular strain of honey that makes it even more powerful than other honey types.

Are you looking for a way to burn more calories without it interfering with your day-to-day work schedule? There are a number of ways to move around differently at work that will increase your body's demand to use more calories. Thinking outside the box and changing some lazy habits can make all the difference between storing your last meal as fat and burning the fat from your body.

If you're doing your best to set aside time for physical activity either before work or after work, good for you. But finding time to exercise can be a challenge for anyone who has a busy schedule. Why not work out while you're at work?
If you need to burn more calories at work this article may help you. If you sit at a desk all day during your normal work day, then you can burn more calories by getting up and out of that chair. If you find time is tight in the evenings when you get home and you do not have the time to workout, then use these tips to burn more calories at work.

STAND TO BURN MORE CALORIES: Standing more at work can help you burn more calories each day. If you can fit in time to stand for at least one hour each day, it will help. Many people don't realize that just standing burns calories, if you can walk around that will burn even more. But if you need to get some work done, stand while doing it.

STAND FOR ONE HOUR: The more you stand the more calories you can burn. Try to stand for 10 minutes each hour. That will get you a full 70 to 80 minutes of standing each day. That's over an hour of standing and if you miss a couple of hours you still get in one hour of standing.

STANDING BURNS: Standing burns more calories than sitting all day. So the more you can get up and even stand in place the more calories you will burn. You can also burn many more calories by walking around a bit, and burn a lot more if you can climb stairs. If you have stairs in your office, find more and more excuses to use them and you will see the calories melt away
Lets take a look at some ways to increase your activity output at work.

Commuting
If you don't live far from work how about walking to work? If this sounds too overwhelming at first thought how about walking one way and getting a lift back? You could even break this down even more by walking alternative days until you get used to the idea. Not only is it good exercise for you but you are doing your bit for the environment too.

Talking of saving the environment, if you live several miles away from work and walking to work is out of the question you could opt for cycling to work instead. The same principles apply, you could try alternative days until you get used to the idea. Once you get into moving your body more the sooner you will crave more exercise.

For those who can't avoid using transport to get to work don't worry because there are ways to use more calories by using your feet more.

If you travel by bus you could get off at the stop before work and walk the rest of the way. The same applies when going home as well; get off the stop before home. This simple strategy could give you up to 3 hours more exercise each week.

If you drive to work you could leave your car a mile from work and walk the rest of the way. Or at least park it a few streets away. The best thing you could do with driving to work is organising a car sharing scheme where you take it in turns to drive a colleague to work and vice versa. The crunch is when it is your colleagues turn to pick you up you arrange to be picked up a mile from home and dropped off a mile from home at the end of the day giving you a reason to walk.

5 Ways to burn more calories at work
1. Take the stairs every time.
2. Get out and walk at lunchtimes.
3. Get on your feet when talking on the phone and walk.
4. Volunteer at every opportunity you get to get out of the office and take the stairs.
5. Volunteer for strenuous jobs whenever possible, in other words don't be afraid to break into a sweat at work.

The Glycemic Index List

Written by great ptc sites 0 komentar Posted in:

Most diabetics have probably heard of the glycemic index list, and even non-diabetics might have run across it before. The thing is, no matter your current health, you can improve it by incorporating the glycemic index list into your diet. Are you curious why? Read on.

Not all carbohydrate foods are created equal, in fact they behave quite differently in our bodies. The glycemic index or GI describes this difference by ranking carbohydrates according to their effect on our blood glucose levels. Choosing low GI carbs - the ones that produce only small fluctuations in our blood glucose and insulin levels - is the secret to long-term health reducing your risk of heart disease and diabetes and is the key to sustainable weight loss

First, you need to understand what the glycemic index is, how it works, and why it will help you be a healthier and happier person. The glycemic index (GI) is a numerical system of measuring how much of a rise in circulating blood sugar a carbohydrate triggers–the higher the number, the greater the blood sugar response. So a low GI food will cause a small rise, while a high GI food will trigger a dramatic spike. A list of carbohydrates with their glycemic values is shown below. A GI is 70 or more is high, a GI of 56 to 69 inclusive is medium, and a GI of 55 or less is low.

The glycemic load (GL) is a relatively new way to assess the impact of carbohydrate consumption that takes the glycemic index into account, but gives a fuller picture than does glycemic index alone. A GI value tells you only how rapidly a particular carbohydrate turns into sugar. It doesn't tell you how much of that carbohydrate is in a serving of a particular food. You need to know both things to understand a food's effect on blood sugar. That is where glycemic load comes in. The carbohydrate in watermelon, for example, has a high GI. But there isn't a lot of it, so watermelon's glycemic load is relatively low. A GL of 20 or more is high, a GL of 11 to 19 inclusive is medium, and a GL of 10 or less is low.

Foods that have a low GL almost always have a low GI. Foods with an intermediate or high GL range from very low to very high GI.

Both GI and GL are listed here. The GI is of foods based on the glucose index–where glucose is set to equal 100. The other is the glycemic load, which is the glycemic index divided by 100 multiplied by its available carbohydrate content (i.e. carbohydrates minus fiber) in grams. (The "Serve size (g)" column is the serving size in grams for calculating the glycemic load; for simplicity of presentation I have left out an intermediate column that shows the available carbohydrates in the stated serving sizes.) Take, watermelon as an example of calculating glycemic load. Its glycemic index is pretty high, about 72. According to the calculations by the people at the University of Sydney's Human Nutrition Unit, in a serving of 120 grams it has 6 grams of available carbohydrate per serving, so its glycemic load is pretty low, 72/100*6=4.32,
Basically, the glycemic index was developed to better understand the effects of a variety of foods on people’s blood sugar levels. It allows doctors to come up with a realistic plan to help keep their patients’ blood sugar levels stable, and it has become a great way for regular people to evaluate the foods they’re eating.

The glycemic index uses a rating system between 0 and 100, with 100 being pure glucose. The foods on the higher end of the glycemic index will be digested faster, and also will be converted into blood sugar faster. What you want to avoid is a high glycemic food that your body digests quickly, because you will then have a lot of blood sugar that your body has to clear out immediately, and then you’ll crash and have to start all over again with another high glycemic food in order to avoid feeling hungry.

The reason to go with low glycemic foods is that they release blood sugar slowly, especially if you eat them in concert with other foods that slow the insulin response. You will end up feeling full for longer between meals, and that means less snacking, less hunger, and fewer cravings for higher glycemic foods. Eventually, if you stick to a diet of mostly low glycemic foods, you will feel more energy and stay satisfied, because your body is using blood sugar more efficiently.

So, what is the glycemic index list? It’s exactly what it sounds like: a list of all sorts of foods and how your body will respond in terms of blood sugar levels. It includes ratings on pasta, bread, fruit, rice, pretzels, potatoes, and any other carbohydrates you can think of. The reason it’s being adopted by everyday people is because it’s pretty simple to understand. If the food is high on the glycemic index (more than 70), you’ll want to avoid it when possible. If it’s between 56 and 69, it’s moderate. If it’s 55 or below, it has a low glycemic index. Since you want to focus on foods with a low glycemic index, you can figure out what foods are right for you with just a glance.
Most protein foods (such as meat, fish, poultry, eggs and full fat cheese) are not listed because they are generally very low on the glycemic index list. Only processed animal products such as hot dogs, lunchmeats and bacon are higher because they have added sugar and other carbohydrates.

Non-fat dairy products also are a bit higher because they do have carbohydrates in them. Most nuts are low on the glycemic list because of the protein and fat found in them (for example, cashews are 27 and peanuts are 22 - but watch out for salt and sugar found in processed nuts!)

Generally, raw vegetables are extremely low on the glycemic index list of foods and in addition, they have a low glycemic load because of the fiber found in them. Cooking changes the quality of the fiber and makes the carbohydrates more readily available, thus raising their glycemic number.

Many vegetables not on this list have a low glycemic index - here are some examples: Asparagus, artichoke, cucumber, fennel, lettuce, bell peppers, tomatoes, avocados, green beans, broccoli, cabbage, kale, collards, parsley, cilantro and cauliflower.

Keep in mind as you review these numbers that they are approximate, usually with a plus or minus factor of 2 - 4 points. Now, when it comes to using the glycemic index list compared to all the other possible diets out there, you might be skeptical about why it is a good guideline to use. The easy answer is it’s not meant to be a fad diet. If you devote yourself to eating low glycemic foods and nutrient-rich foods, you are going to be healthier and be less prone to putting on weight, pure and simple. It’s not gimmicky––it’s based squarely on scientific principles.

Secrets to Curing Heartburn

Written by great ptc sites 0 komentar Posted in:

What Causes Heartburn?" "Esophagitis" or an inflamed esophagus is the result of acidic stomach gases frequently assaulting your esophagus. Left untreated "Esophagitis" can develop into erosions in your esophagus making it difficult and painful to swallow.

The other condition that is linked to heartburn is damage to the delicate cells of your esophagus. This damage can be caused by very hot beverages, extremely hot spices, poisons, breathing toxic vapors, or food that hasn't been chewed up properly,

Surprising I know!...and the most common cause is harsh and crunchy foods that have not been completely chewed. The unchewed pieces of food will actually damage the delicate cells of your esophagus when you swallow. This damage is usually in the form of tiny cuts or scratches, and when acid comes in contact with them...you will hurt!

When you drink orange juice or tomato juice the acidic beverage comes in direct contact with the damage in your esophagus, and the result is pain! Oh! before I forget. If you do experience chest pains, don't drink apple cider vinegar, because it is very acidic and will cause you extreme pain almost immediately. If this ever happens to you, drink some water and it will wash the acid away from the esophageal sores and your pain will stop!

Even when you burp or experience silent reflux, the refluxed gases will cause pain when they come in contact with any damage in your esophagus. Why? Because the stomach gases are acidic!

Many cases of heartburn can be prevented before they begin. Coffee and alcoholic beverages can trigger heartburn pain. High-fat foods and strong spices also can cause indigestion. Avoid citrus fruits, onions, garlic and tomatoes. Some foods that contain probiotics, such as yogurt, can aid in heartburn relief if consumed daily. Remember that everyone is different; certain foods may aggravate some people but not others. Keep a diary of what you eat and drink every day and be aware of how you feel. Eventually, you will figure out what foods and/or beverages cause heartburn and you can remove them from your diet.

In this article, you will learn 6 simple secrets that will help you begin the home treatment for curing acid reflux. Say good bye to your antacids, because today could be the last day you use them!

6 Secrets about a Remedy for Reflux

1. Antacids will eventually wear out! Have you noticed your antacids not working quite as good? The truth is that antacids work by neutralizing the refluxed acid. Unfortunately, that is only a symptom of GERD. Natural remedies work by curing the cause of reflux which is a weak lower esophageal sphincter (LES). The LES is the muscle flap that sits on top of the stomach. By strengthening the LES, you can permanently cure heartburn.

2. Many of the things that we eat or ingest can damage the LES. It is important to allow your LES to heal by avoiding a few things. You should avoid hard and crunchy foods for a few days, avoid caffeine and also avoid smoking. If you like spicy food, you should also avoid this too! This will give your sphincter time to heal!

3. Drinking plenty of water after every meal and snack can create a tight seal for the LES and the stomach opening. You should be drinking at least 10 cups of water a day.

4. Honey is one of the oldest natural remedies around. And research shows that honey can actually help tissue regenerate quicker. You should suck on 3 teaspoons of honey daily to help the LES heal more quickly.

5. Try apple cider vinegar. We all know one elderly person who religiously takes swigs of apple cider vinegar. It has been shown that taking a swig of apple cider vinegar will add acid to the stomach to aid with digestion. This could greatly diminish the chance of reflux.

6. Finally, many fruits we eat can also naturally help cure acid reflux. For instance, my dad has been carrying around a red apple (or slices) everyday for almost 30 years. Try nibbling on a red apple next time you have a reflux attack.

Removing Kidney Stones

Written by great ptc sites 0 komentar Posted in:

Kidney stones are stones that develop out of minerals and acids in urine. The substances build up and form a stone that becomes very painful to pass. Symptoms may include severe pain around the kidney along with fever and chills. Although the kidney stones may feel extremely painful they will often pass after consuming a lot of water. At times, the stone will not break down and medical attention must be sought to remove the stone surgically.

the kidney stone is blocking the urinary system, or you also have an infection, your doctor will probably suggest medical treatment. Your options are:

Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL). This uses sound waves that pass easily through the body but are strong enough to break up a kidney stone. This is the most commonly used medical procedure for treating kidney stones. See an illustration of ESWL.

Ureteroscopy. The surgeon passes a very thin telescope tube (ureteroscope) up the urinary tract to the stone's location, and then he or she uses instruments to remove the stone or break it up for easier removal. Occasionally, you may need a small, hollow tube (ureteral stent) placed in the ureter to keep it open and drain urine and any stone pieces. This procedure is often used for stones that have moved from the kidney to the ureter. See an illustration of ureteroscopy.
The size of the stone, its location in the urinary tract, your overall health, and other factors are all considered in deciding which method to use when breaking up or removing a kidney stone.

Removing kidney stones can be as easy as reading a few tips to cleanse your kidney. Unfortunately, many people have a very difficult time passing kidney stones.
There are a few techniques used by doctors for removing a kidney stone. One method is to apply shock waves to the stone so that it breaks down into smaller pieces and is able to pass through the urine. The stone may also be removed through tunnel surgery which involves cutting into the back to remove the stone or ureteroscope which involves inserting a wire with a camera on it through the urethra to pull out the stone or destroy it

Unlike most people, water will sometimes not do the trick for passing your stones. If you have tried water and are still feeling pain, you may want to include your diet along with herbal remedies to cure yourself.

Why Your Body May Need More than Water

Did you know that most kidney stones are caused when the body is unable to flush the calcium that can be deposited in the kidneys? It only makes sense that drinking plenty of water is the perfect remedy for this disease.

However, 1 out of 4 patients will need something more than water. If you have already drunk plenty of water, this article is for you. You will find 5 tips that could help flush and dissolve your kidney stones.

Removing Kidney Stones with 5 FREE tips

1. Contine to drink plenty of water while also eating plenty of fruits and vegetables. Both fruits and veggies contain fiber which can help cleanse the kidneys. Foods high in fiber can help flush stones.

2. Research has shown that natural acids can actually help dissolve your calcium stones. Because calcium is a very brittle mineral by nature, it only makes sense that eating foods and beverages that are high in acids will help dissolve stones. The best acid is phosphoric acid which is in a variety of beverages.

3. You may also wish to be eating foods that are high in chlorophyll like asparagus and spinach. These green veggies are miracle vegetables when it comes to flushing kidney stones.

4. A little exercise might be all it takes to loosen up the kidneys enough to pass a stone tonight. It has been found that patients who exercise regularly are way more likely to pass a kidney stone.

5. Finally, citrates can help reduce the buildup of uric acid and also eliminate the formation of calcium salts. You can quickly increase levels of citrates by drinking carrot, grape and orange juices. V-8 is a great option!

Training Injury Free weight training

If you run, the question is not if you will become injured but when you will become injured. In fact, I was injured in a recent triathlon. It was an off road race in the mountains. When I came out of the water, I found myself in 8th place. The second portion of the race was a hot, hilly, humid trail run. I was able to catch and pass the front runner with some degree of difficulty. Now that I was in the lead, my goal was to hold the lead and to increase the distance between myself and the second place runner until I made it to the mountain bike portion of the race. I knew that if I could hold the lead all the way to the bike, I could maintain that lead until the finish line.

Remaining injury free is of the utmost importance to all people who exercise but especially to those who are over thirty five years old. Can a person lose fat and gain muscle while sitting on the couch recovering from an injury they incurred while training? The answer is no. The reason my clients achieve superior results is because they continue to diet and workout uninterrupted by injury. In this article I will share some techniques I have used to successfully train clients at high intensity without injury. I do take pride in the fact that none of my clients have been seriously injured while training in over twenty years of practicing my art. Stretching is very important for injury prevention. I use basic stretches for both upper body and lower body to get my client's bodies prepared for the stress of intense exercise. Stretching increases muscular circulation and prepares the tendons, ligaments and joints for the work to be done.Warming up is also important for injury prevention. I always have my clients perform their initial sets for a body part with a light weight for high repetitions, this increases circulation in the area we are working and prepares the tendons, ligaments and joints for the more intense work to come.

When it comes to the nitty gritty of the actual high intensity work, one of the secrets of my success in keeping my clients uninjured is that I avoid fixed movements through pre-set ranges of motion. I favor using dumbbells over barbells and machines almost every time. Dumbbells allow a trainee to use more natural range of motion in all pressing movements such as Chest Presses and Shoulder Presses. For example, instead of doing shoulder presses with a fixed barbell or a machine, I prefer using dumbbells; they allow a trainee to make micro-adjustments in exercise form to avoid overly stressing injured tissue. A client with a micro-injury to a shoulder, for example, can most often comfortably do dumbbell press even at high intensity without a problem even when barbell or machine shoulder presses are impossible due to pain. The barbell or machine often forces the trainee to use an unnatural range of motion which can cause injury or aggravate injuries which already exist.

Many of my friends and associates have injured themselves doing heavy barbell bench presses for chest. I myself long ago have just about quit using barbells and machines altogether for upper body work as a strategy to avoid injury. I am forty one years old and am still able to train at a very high level without time off from injury. It is my desire that this article benefits all who read it,in their quest for greater health, vitality, and wellness.

The most important ingredient in the recipe for progress in triathlon is consistency, and the key to consistency (besides discipline) is staying healthy. Every triathlete should make health maintenance the top priority of his or her training. If you do this, fitness will more or less take care of itself. Here are my three golden rules for training injury-free, all learned the hard way.
Stay In Balance

Muscle imbalances are a causal factor in relation to a majority of overuse injuries. No muscle ever works alone. In order to function optimally, each muscle needs to cooperate with other muscles, and optimal cooperation, in turn, requires that cooperating muscles be balanced in terms of their length, elasticity, and strength.

Most triathletes come to the sport with pre-existing imbalances that are due to individual physiology, adaptation to lifestyle (especially sitting), and past injuries. Training itself tends to exacerbate some of these imbalances and to create new ones, and eventually these lead to injury. For example, running often creates tight, strong hamstrings and tight iliotibial bands while leaving the vastus medialis (the muscle on the inner side of the front of the thigh) relatively loose and weak. As a result, the kneecap can begin to track incorrectly during running, leading to cartilage damage.

You can reduce and prevent imbalances by strengthening muscles that are relatively weak and stretching muscles that are relatively tight. In order to do this in a targeted way, you need to know your imbalances. Muscles that tend to become too tight in triathletes are those of the calf, the hamstrings, the hip flexors, the piriformis, the internal shoulder rotators, the neck extensors, and the chest muscles. Two major tendons, the iliotibial band and the Achilles tendon, also tend to become tight. The muscles that are typically underdeveloped in triathletes are the medial and frontal shin muscles, the hip abductors, the gluteal muscles, the abdominals, the scapular stabilizers and rotator cuff muscles, all of which every triathlete should proactively strengthen with resistance exercise.

But each body is unique, so I recommend that you seek out a good sports massage therapist or physical therapist who can help you identify your precise combination of imbalances and suggest exercises to correct them.

this is basic you can practice to reduce injury. Here is a list of some important safety tips that should be followed by all weight trainers. These tips can help prevent injury and help speed your progress.
1. Have a medical check up before you begin working out, especially if you have been living a sedentary lifestyle over the past year or more.
2. Always warm up prior to working out. Most injuries are the result of jumping into a heavy workout too quickly. A good warm up only takes a few minutes, but it can prevent pulled muscles and injured joints.
3. Use collars on all barbells. If you forget to put the collars on the barbell, the plates may fall off. This can cause serious injuries such as muscle tears, pulled tendons, etc. Play it safe, and use the collars.
4. Use a spotter when necessary. When doing exercises such as bench press, squats, shoulder press, lying tricep extensions, etc. have someone stand behind you and provide assistance lifting the weight if necessary.
5. Where applicable, use catch racks such as the squat rack or power rack. The rack will prevent you from getting pined under a heavy barbell. This is a must if you are working out alone and do not have a spotter.
6. Use proper exercise form at all times. Training with poor exercise technique will produce poor results and increase the risk of injury.
7. When unsure how to do an exercise, ask a knowledgeable instructor or experienced gym member.
8. Use a weight lifting belt when doing heavy squats, deadlifts, or heavy rowing exercises. A good belt can help support the lower back muscles and help keep your back in proper alignment. However, do not use a belt for lighter exercises. Your lower back muscles need to be exercised just like any other muscle and if you wear a belt all of the time the lower back muscles will get weak.
9. Dress appropriately for your workouts. If it is a cold winter’s day, make sure to wear a sweatshirt and sweat pants. This will keep the muscles warm and prevent injury. The opposite applies during a warm summer’s day, wear lighter clothing to keep cooler and prevent dehydration.
10. Put your weights back when you are finished with them. It is not safe to have barbells and plates laying around on the floor or left on the exercise equipment. Return all equipment to it correct location when you are finished, this is good gym etiquette.
11. Drink water during your workouts. This will prevent dehydration and help maintain your energy levels. Carry around a water bottle and sip water between sets. It is best to drink water that is at room temperature because cold water can cause stomach cramps while working out.

Gallstone natural remedy

Written by great ptc sites 0 komentar Posted in:

Gallstones are a painful affliction that can strike anyone who eats a high-fat diet, whether they are overweight or of a normal weight. Gallstones, sometimes bigger than a pea in size, try to pass through the gallbladder's exit tube, which is no wider than a hair's breadth--and that's what causes the severe pain associated with a "gallstone attack." Signs of a gallstone attack include severe pain in the upper abdomen that may last for hours. The pain may radiate to the back and the victim may have to keep shifting positions to get comfortable.

What Are Gallstones

Hard lumps of cholesterol, calcium or bile pigments can form "stones" in the gall bladder or bile duct. It is the crystallisation of these substances that are the causes of gallstones. The crystals latch on to a protein fragment and gradually build up layer on layer. They often go undetected until they begin to cause pain.
Symptoms of gallstones range from mild upper abdominal discomfort to severe pain with vomiting.

Foods to Avoid For Gallstones

If you are a sufferer you should avoid fried and fatty foods. Cut down on refined foods, fat and red meat.

A low-fat, high-fibre diet can help to prevent stones becoming any larger and discourage the formation of new ones.

Your gallstones diet should include plenty of starchy foods such as bread and rice. Eat a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables.

You must avoid fasting as it can precipitate an attack. It is important that you keep your weight in check.

Cut down on alcohol and caffeine.

Gallstones natural remedy will work for you if you are willing to make these simple lifestyle changes. It may be the deciding factor whether you keep or loose your gall bladder through surgery.

Weight training program Disciples

Written by great ptc sites 0 komentar Posted in:

As important as weight training programs are to success, it is also important to remember they are not the only important factor. There are three factors that contribute to building muscle mass - diet, training AND rest. All are equally critical to success. Fail to account for one factor and you will fail to maximize your muscle building capability.

When a solid weight gain diet is combined with a well-planned weight training program and sufficient rest, it can be a powerful force.

Without your diet supplying the raw materials your body needs to build muscle, all the hard work you do in the gym will be wasted. If you don't provide the body enough rest time with which to repair and rebuild muscle, all your weight training will be wasted.

The most common mistake beginner and intermediate trainers make in their mass gain approach is an over-emphasis on their weight training and an under-emphasis on their eating and rest.

This article is focused on the basics of nutrition for those who embarking on a fitness/weight training program. Today I'll talk about the three primary sources of calories for human beings. Proteins, carbohydrates, and fats. Protein is of the utmost importance for those trying to improve their bodies. The eating plan for a person trying to improve their physique should have a diet whose foundation is protein. This is what I call the skeleton of a proper eating program. The skeleton of a proper eating program is all of the protein foods the eating plan will contain. The most commonly used protein foods will be meat, fish, poultry, protein supplements, eggs and dairy based protein foods such as cottage cheese. Below I will plot out for you a skeleton of a typical eating program for a personal training client.

1.) upon waking, 3 eggs with an additional 3 egg whites 2.) 3 hours later, 8 oz. of grilled tilapia 3.) 3 hours later, 8 oz. of grilled tilapia 4.) 3 hours later, 8 oz of broiled ground sirloin 5.) 3 hours later, Muscle Milk protein supplement 6.) 2 hours later, 1 cup small curd cottage cheese

As of right now the foundation of a proper eating plan, being protein foods, has been completed. All that is needed is to add carbohydrate foods to the eating program. The level of carbohydrate intake should be tailored to the personal training client's goals. For example a skinny high school kid who wants to gain weight for football would eat a plentitude of carbohydrates. Let's take a look at how an eating program for such an individual might look. What we will do is take the skeleton eating program and add to it.

1.) upon waking, 3 eggs with an additional 3 egg whites, 4 slices toast with jam 2.) 3 hours later, 8 oz. of grilled tilapia, 1 cup white rice 3.) 3 hours later, 8 oz. of grilled tilapia, 1 cup white rice 4.) 3 hours later, 8 oz ground sirloin on a bun with ketchup 5.) 3 hours later, Muscle Milk protein supplement 6.) 2 hours later, 1 cup small curd cottage cheese, with 1 cup chopped pineapple.

Now we will look at a more typical scenario for my personal training clients. Nine out of ten people who come to me for training are coming to lose weight and become more toned and fit. I will use the exact same skeleton eating plan as I did in the other example but this eating plan will be vastly different in the carbohydrate department. Healthy carbohydrate foods are grains, rice, potatoes, whole grain bread, and fruit

1.) upon waking, 3 eggs with an additional 3 egg whites, 2 slices dry rye toast 2.) 3 hours later, 8 oz. of grilled tilapia, 1 cup steamed veggies 3.) 3 hours later, 8 oz. of grilled tilapia, 1 cup steamed veggies 4.) 3 hours later, 8 oz of broiled ground sirloin, 1 large green salad, w vinegarette 5.) 3 hours later, Muscle Milk protein supplement. 1 grapefruit 6.) 2 hours later, 1 cup small curd cottage cheese.

When constructing eating plans for weight loss, you can see that the order of the day is drastic reduction in carbohydrate consumption. No matter what kind of eating program I construct, I never purposely add fat calories. Adequate fat consumption is achieved with the fat that is present in the protein sources.
